OFFICE OF RESEARCH, INNOVATION & COMMERCIALISATION

Research support from question to impact.

ORIC is the research-support office of Link Medical Interface. It works with researchers before problems become embedded in a study—helping strengthen design, methodology, research governance, funding strategy and the pathway from research idea to useful output.

WHAT ORIC DOES

Support across the research lifecycle.

ORIC brings practical research support, research governance, funding and translation functions into one operational pathway.

RESEARCH SUPPORT PATHWAY

Start before the difficult decisions become fixed.

ORIC support should ideally begin before data collection. Statistical analysis cannot repair a fundamentally inappropriate design, and ethics preparation is not something to add after the research plan has already been fixed.

INDEPENDENT ETHICAL REVIEW

Research ethics is a governance function, not an administrative formality.

Research requiring ethical review is handled through the LMI Institutional Review Board and its governing procedures.

The new website will provide dedicated routes for initial applications, review pathways, amendments, continuing review, safety reporting, study closure and controlled forms.

PROTOTYPE CONTROL

Procedural details are intentionally not hard-coded here.

Timelines, forms and operational requirements should be populated from the current approved IRB procedures before launch rather than inherited from legacy website copy.

GRANTS · INNOVATION · TRANSLATION

Some research should move beyond publication.

ORIC supports projects that may lead to new services, clinical tools, rehabilitation technologies, digital-health applications, educational platforms or other practical outputs.

RESEARCHER DEVELOPMENT

Build the skills behind sustainable research.

Research capability grows when methodology, ethics, data and communication skills are developed together.

Development themes

Research methodology · Biostatistics · Scientific writing · Evidence synthesis · Research ethics · Good clinical practice · Data management · Grant writing · Peer review · Research integrity · Science communication
